Sampdoria (7-7-10) were well beaten in Rome last week, but they are definitely on an upward curve compared to earlier in the season, with three wins in their last six. Milan (8-8-8) had to rely on a Balotelli wonderstrike to get a flattering win against Bologna last week, and have since gone down narrowly at home to Atletico Madrid in the Champions league. Seedorf looks to have improved the team, but the league table doesn’t lie, and Milan are some way below their usual standard. Gastaldello(def) and De Silvestri(mid) are important suspension misses for Sampdoria, while Milan again have a string of injuries ahead of the game. Balotelli, De Sciglio, Abate and El Shaarawy all miss for sure, with doubts over Robinho, Birsa and Zapata.

Sampdoria at 3.20(11/5)Bet365 is the value bet in the match on the 1X2 market. There is little separating the teams as the table illustrates, and Sampdoria will go within a point of Milan with a win in this. A hard midweek Champions league match could show on Seedorfs men, and Sampdoria are well up to expoiting it. With no Balotelli to bail them out Milan should not be favourites to win this match. 3.20 is a big price for a Sampdoria win, and should be snapped up.
