ARSENAL - NAPOLI : PREDICTIONS

Second semi-final of the Emirates Cup sees host Arsenal meet up with Rafa Benitez’s Napoli.

Arsenal goes into the friendly period before the league starts in a similar vein to each of the past few years. No major signings despite the money being available and the fans revolting. The cash is there as shown by the 40 Million offer for Luis Suarez but no-one else has been properly recruited. Indeed todays rivals Napoli stole Gonzalo Higuain with an improved offer that left Arsenal flailing. Arsene Wenger has trimmed the squad with loads of deadwood leaving. Out goes Andre Arshavin, Andre Santos, Denilson, Vito Mannone and Johan Djorou among others.  Arshavin plus the two Brazilians started well but ultimately will be viewed as flops.

Napoli look good this season to at least match last season’s runners up spot.  There are a few questions over Rafa Benitez, especially in Italy; his time at Inter an unmitigated disaster. He comes into the job with a fantastic squad, super fans and a decent chairman. Napoli lose talisman Edinson Cavani but already his transfer fee has been well invested. In comes Gonzalo Higuain, Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina; Spanish defender Raul Albiol; Spanish forward Jose Maria; Brazilian goalkeeper Rafael; Forward Emanuele Calaio; Croatian midfielder Josip Radosevic; Belgian midfielder Dries Mertens and Colombian midfielder Pablo Armero. Napoli for me will finish 2^nd at the very least and could have a sneak at the title.

ARSENAL - NAPOLI: BETTING TIPS

This is a really close game here between two quality sides. Arsenal have not strengthened at all but are still a really exciting side playing top notch football. Napoli are also a great attacking side and although losing Cavani is a massive blow they have well invested the cash and with over 80 million spent on serious players they look good for the upcoming season. At home Arsenal are usually very good but Napoli are more than a match, one thing that’s guaranteed at The Emirates is goals so I think the best bet is Over 2.5 goals at 1.80 (bet365)
