BAYERN MUNICH – SAO PAULO: PREDICTIONS

Second Audi Cup match of the day sees hosts Bayern entertain Brazilian giants Sao Paulo at Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich are simply the best side in club football at present by a country mile. Their total annihiliation of Barcelona in European Champions League semi-final was incredible to watch. That the side seek to improve is testament to the ethos of Bayern. Transfers in include Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona for a fee of 25m; Defender Jan Kirchhoff on a free transfer from Mainz; Midfielder Mario Gotze from Dortmund for a fee of 37m.  They are going through a few changes at the minute though and the team must adapt to the new signings and new coach Pep Guardiola. Sao Paulo went into the Brazil Serie A season amongst the favourites to lift the title. However after a series of poor results and terrible performances the crowd are on the backs of the Soberano.  After eleven games you would not expect Sao Paulo to be near the bottom of the table but that’s how it is. 2 wins, 3 draws and 6 defeats. The fact that they have lost five times at home highlights how poor they are currently; they have not won a game in any competition for 11 matches now.
