LIVERPOOL – CELTIC: PREDICTIONS
Massive battle of Britain here as Liverpool host Celtic in Dublin, a full house is expected as Liverpool play their last warm up game of the season.
Liverpool have played games all over the place since the start of the friendlies season but have been in imperious form. 4 games 4 wins with 12 scored and 1 goal conceded. Liverpool fielded two entirely different sides in the recent friendly in Norway. The 2nd half side was the more experienced but both halves Liverpool looked solid. A young, exciting side full of verve and creation, even without Suarez Liverpool look a strong side.
Celtic should add to their haul of titles with another canter this season. With no Rangers again there is no competition for the Glasgow giants. Celtic will have the legendary support off the partisan local fans but the quality seems slowly ebbing away from the Scots league. Steven Mouyokolo, Derrick Boerrigter and Amido Balde are the incoming players with Virgil Van Dyke for a combined 7 Million Euros. Out goes key striker Gary Hooper, plus midfield powerhouse Victor Wanyama for a combined 20 million Euros. Celtic have had a solid opening to the season with 3 wins and 1 draw to progess in Champions League against Cliftonville and Elfsborg, in the league the side beat Ross County on the opening day but in truth were not impressive at all.
LIVERPOOL – CELTIC: BETTING TIPS
I think Liverpool are a far greater side than Celtic and should have the game no problems. A neutral venue it will be but Celtic should shade the support. Dublin is fiercely loyal to The Hoops and though Liverpool will have strong support it will be mainly Celtic. On the field though I expect Liverpool to breeze this, looking down the 2 squads there is not a single Celtic player who would make the Liverpool starting eleven and that says it all. Liverpool at 1.67 with Corals is the bet.
