MANCHESTER UNITED v WIGAN: PREDICTIONS

Its Wembley and its Community Shield time, Premier League winners take on FA Cup winners Wigan in the curtain raiser. Wigan find themselves in the Championship but their fans will relish the return to the scene of the greatest day in their history.

Manchester United and David Moyes are finding it difficult to get off to a decent start. The fans are itchy and with a few defeats already the problems are mounting.  Noone could have followed Alex Ferguson so any problems seem amplified. United are chasing players and not sealing deals which is highly unusual. Rebuffs from Everton for Baines and Barcelona for Fabregas and Alcantara seem to adding to Moyes woes. Wayne Rooney seems keen to jump ship for Chelsea and his relationship with the fans is at an all time low. In friendly fixtures so far United have 1wins, 2draws and 1 defeat. With 10 goals scored and 8 conceded its been a flat warm up period considering the weak opposition.

Wigan are going though huge changes but by the looks of it they should be straight back into the Premiership. An opening day 4-0 win at Barnsley was very impressive indeed and it could be they storm the 2^nd tier. I have a few reservations over Owen Coyle but his side were very good indeed. Grant Holt was brought in and at the Championship level is deadly. The side remains almost the same as last year with just Kone and Alcaraz leaving (both following Martinez to Everton)
