MOTHERWELL – NEWCASTLE UNITED: PREDICTIONS
Preseason friendlies again and it’s a cross border affair, Motherwell entertain Newcastle.
Motherwell are re-building for the season but have lost their top scorer (Mark Higdon) and another decent player in Tom Hateley. Scottish football is at an all-time low and the quality is leaving the North in droves. Motherwell would struggle in England Championship for me highlighting the poor standard.
Newcastle will hope to improve on last season; they were flirting with relegation for most of the year. Alan Pardew will like to get his team back to the decent football of 2012 when they matched most teams. Few players have moved in or out so it looks like business as usual for now.

Huge gulf in class for me and one Newcastle should win with ease if they play anyone of note. As with friendlies the odds on offer are always decent. 1.80 on Newcastle (coral) looks a great price and one I will take. Scottish teams have had torrid few weeks in friendlies with sides getting hammered across the continent, Celtic included.
