LEGIA – WIDZEW: PREDICTIONS

Poland Ekstrasklasa returns with an opening game for Champions Legia, they open with a home tie against Widzew.

Legia of Warsaw won the league last season for the 9^th time, but their welcome 1^st since 2006.  This 1^st game of the season is sandwiched in between the 1^st round of Champions League but their trip to Wales was a big success with a win and 3 away goals. The tie is almost certainly over and Legia can go into this game with full focus. Legia are everyone’s favourite to take the title again and look good value around 2.50 (6/4)

Widzew of Lodz have won four titles overall but none since 1996. The side have suffered the ignomy of relegation a few times but seem to bounce straight back (and usually with the Polish 1^st league title too!)  The side looks a bit light in the quality department and they have only four teams below them in Championship betting. Widzew may benefit from playing Legia in game 1, with the champions maybe having an eye on the all-important Champions League tie on Tuesday.
