CSKA moved from 3^rd to 1^st at the weekend after the pressure at the top meant both Zenit and Lokomotiv failing to win. CSKA win the league with a win for sure and secure Champions League position with a draw but would then need Zenit to falter again to regain the title. CSKA have 61 points from the 29 games. Home record reads 12 wins, 1draw and 1 loss. Whilst form is perfect with 9 wins from last 9 league games.  Lokomotiv slipped up at the worst possible time and went down 2-0 to midtable Rostov. They fell down to 3^rd having led the league uptil that point.  The only way for them to go here is to try and win because they can only qualify for Champions League and take the title is if Zenit slip up also (away to Kuban Krasnodar) – Lokomotiv away from reads 8 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. Recent form shows 2 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss which really is not good enough for a title run in.

Huge game in Moscow as two sides with a chance of the title go head to head. CSKA are the side with the history and recent experience here.  CSKA have the big edge with form too having won the last 9 league games to power their way to the top of the table having lagged behind for much of the title run in. Lokomotiv found the pressure too much from CSKA and Zenit continually winning and dropped points to the likes of Rostov and Anzhi in recent weeks. I take CSKA to win this one and wrap the title up. CSKA have dominated this fixture in recent years, winning the last 5 straight matches home and away.
