Scotland League 1 offers up a cracker here as Rangers take on Hearts at Ibrox. At least this shadow of a Rangers side anyway. Going into the season Rangers are long odds on favourites and although Hearts are in 2nd in the betting this should be the year the Auld Firm are reunited in Scotland Prem. Rangers warmed up for this one with a 2-1 win over Edinburgh rivals Hibernian. They have a squad that should take this league for sure. Strikers Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller are Rangers legends, while Lee McCullough deserves an award for sticking with them in the dark days of division 3. Its seems likely Rangers will move from the 3-5-2 formation that didn’t really work against Hibs. With a will switch to a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 formation. Hearts have major financial woes of their own and expect them to suffer a bit this season too. They have a few ex-rangers players in the side who will be up for this for sure.
Kris Boyd returns to Rangers after another goal laden year in Scotland football. After a travel around with matches in Turkey and USA – he resigned for Kilmarnock. It never took him long to find his feet and he netted 22 in 36 league matches last year in Scotland Prem. The drop down to Championship should mean a bucketful of goals for the international player.
