Celtic host Raith Rovers in this 3rd round Scottish League Cup match. Simunic is a big doubt here while star striker Griffiths misses out again. Stuart Armstrong isn’t available either but Celtic have two key men returning in defender Mikael Lustig and midfielder Stefan Johansen. Celtic are 2nd in the Premiership with 19 points from 8 games. They trail an on-fire Aberdeen who have won every match so far this season. Raith are in the Championship and sit in 4th position with 12 points from 7 games. They have been battered twice so far this season by Rangers and Hibs. Conceding 7 goals without scoring themselves.
Although Celtic will rotate they are still head and shoulder above most of their own division, so the tier below sides will struggle big time at Celtic Park. Raith have already lost 5-0 to cross town rivals Rangers who are levels below the Hoops. I take a convincing win for the home side and wouldn’t be surprised with a repeat of last weekend tipped up 6-0 win over Dundee.
