Athletic Bilbao is 3-0-2 so far in the La Liga. Given their fixtures so far I would say they’re pretty much at par with expectations. Regulars Balenziaga, Kike Sola and Ekiza are still out. So is youngster Saborit. Athletic club should manage to cope with these absences though.
Real Betis is 1-2-2 so far, but hasn’t lost in three. I’d say they’ve had a slightly tougher list of fixtures than the home side so far. Juan Carlos is the only reported player out. Real Betis is 3-1-0 against Bilbao in the last four fixtures between the sides. In other words, they’ll fancy their chances going into this tie.

This could very well be a tight game. Bilbao is stronger going forward, but Real Betis is better at the back. I think Betis can contain the home side, and probably get something out of this game.
