One of the mini-derbies of Madrid as Atetico face Rayo Vallecano at Vicente Calderon.

After a midweek supercup 1-1 draw with Barcelona things have begun brightly for the men from the capital.  Atletico must adapt to life without Falcoa and it will prove difficult as they relied upon the Columbian heavily when things were not going well. Rayo Vallecano opened up their La Liga campaign with a well-deserved three points as they hammered Elche 3-0. A result made even more impressive as Elche matched a very strong Sociedad 1-1 on Saturday.  Vallecano have turned around an entire squad of players but they played really well as a team.  With an almost Barce like hold on the possession with nearly 70% enjoyed in the 1^st game its safe to say the side has settled quickly. One player out is midfielder Jose Carlos who would have started the game.
