ATLETICO MADRID V REAL BETIS PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Atletico are having a fantastic year and are currently in 2^nd place in la liga with 44 points from 19 matches.  They are 11 points off leaders Barcelona but a full 7 points ahead of 3^rd place Real Madrid, something that Atletico are not used to against their Madrid rivals.

Betis are also having an excellent year and are above all expectations in 4^th palce in the league, holding on to the final Champions League spot.  They are 3 points ahead of the chasing group of Malaga and Rayo Vallecano and have been in great form recently winning 4 of their last 5 matches.

This is just the first leg of the Copa del Ray quarter final so neither side needs to go allout for the win but obviously Atletico will be hoping to gain the advantage as the home side to take away to Betis.

Both teams have home games at the weekend which they will expect to win so they rest a few stars tonight but I’d still expect two strong line-ups of 1^st team players.  This is an important competition and both clubs would want a semi final appearance.

Atletico are big favourites for this one and when you look at their league form you can understand why.  They have won an astonishing 11 straight games at home and in their last 5 they have not conceded a goal while scoring 15. 

I don’t expect this run to end and can see Atletico taking a comfortable lead into the second leg.
