Espanyol v Barcelona predictions

Espanyol and Barcelona has nothing to play for but honor in this Primera Division local derby. Barcelona are crowned BBVA Liga champions, and still people talk about the team needing a revolution. After all; they only won the league and reached the Champions League semis. No small expectations, nopes!

Since and including 2011 Espanyol and Barca have played 4 competitive matches. Barca are 3-1-0 stats wise, but three of these fixtures were played at Camp Neu. The draw came at the Estadi Cornella El-Prat.

Tejera, a young midfielder is suspended for Espanyol. Moreno is a doubt. Mattioni and Longo are still out, and relatively easy to replace. Other than that they have no new worries to report. Barcelona will still miss the world's best player: Messi. The Catalan tank Puyol still sits out too.

With nothing to play for but honor I think Espanyol has a better chance than normal. Barcelona shook off their shameful exit of the Champions League in a good way domestically, but for them it is probably all about next season now in the back of their minds.
