ESPANYOL - VALENCIA PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS
Espanyol opened up with a decent 2-2 draw away at Celta Vigo, many teams will struggle in Galicia for sure so that may end up being a good result. Espanyol went into every challenge with solid intent, racking up 4 yellow cards which probably have been more only some lenient refereeing. The side was better than expected for me and could be a surprise this season. Though if they carry on with the roughhousing they will have a few red cards for sure. Mubarak Wakaso will be suspended for this one and is likely to be the 1st of many this season.
Valencia lost another star man is Aly Cissokho left for Liverpool. The side have brought in promising Colombian striker has an excellent strike rate at all the teams he has played for and Valencia could have a real diamond in the dimunitive forward. In their opening game Valencia faced a Malaga side shorn of all of their best players of last year and the coach. It was a bit worrying for Valenica I thought as the game was devoid of creation and although Valencia looked rock solid at the back they offered little in attack. Only for a comedy piece of goalkeeping from the Malaga stopper who gifted the winner, Valencia would not have scored had they played all night.
ESPANYOL - VALENCIA: RUN OF PLAY
Three wins for Valencia, 2 draws and 1 Espanyol win. Goals have been a feature of this fixtures with 23 in 6 games for a high average of 3.83. Both teams to score has collected 5 out of 6 meeting. In Espanyol there has been 1 Espanyol win and 2 draws with 14 goals for an average of 4.67. With 2 of the 3 games collecting for BTTS.
ESPANYOL - VALENCIA PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS: TOTAL GOALS
I was really impressed by Valencia’s defending at the weekend and as a unit I cannot see them conceding many, especially to the perceived smaller sides. I was also amazed to see their lack of ability going forward, so I expect some small margin wins and low scoring draws for them this year. I am ignoring recent goal fests in this fixture as these are two vastly different sides from the ones of years gone by. Espanyol looked better than I expected and will give Valencia a game for sure. I take Under 2.5 goals at 1.85 with bet365.
