Athletico Madrid has played a game less than most in la liga so far due to their European Super Cup victory against Chelsea.  They are still in a strong 9^th in the table having won one and drawn one of their two league games.  The victory was an excellent 4-0 win over Athletic Bilbao and was preceded by a 1-1 draw away at Levante.  Athletico will be aiming for a Champions League spot this year and their strong start has put them in a good position for that.

Rayo Vallecano has been one of the surprises of the season so far, remaining undefeated in their first 3 games.  They won their opening two games with victories over Granada and Real Betis then played out a 0-0 draw with Seville in their last game.  The strong start leaves them in 4^th place in the table but they have some tough games ahead.

1x2 Bets

Athletico are strong favourites at home priced at 1.4 with Coral.  The draw is 5.24 and a Vallecano win 10.0 with Betfred.

Athletico have been in great form this year so far and have two very impressive victories so far.  The 4-0 demolition of Bilbao was surpassed with an excellent 4-1 victory over Chelsea in the European Super Cup.

Asian Handicap

The Asian market sees Athletico as strong favourites here with the handicap set at Madrid -1.5 @ 2.01 with Pinnacle and Vallecano +1.5 @ 1.94 with 188bet.

As noted above, Athletico’s last two victories have been by 4 and 3 goals respectively and against a much better standard of opposition.  If Falcao shows the type of quality he did in those games then another route could be forthcoming.
