The pick of the action from this week’s La Liga ties sees Barcelona host Valencia.  We will preview the match and give betting predictions for the top markets.

Barcelona has had the perfect start to their La Liga season so far, 2 games and 2 wins.  Their most recent game against Osasuna was far from routine however, they were a goal down until the 76^th minute and probably deserved to be further behind.  Messi as usual excelled himself and popped up with 2 goals in 5 minutes to give Barcelona an important away win.  They suffered a disappointing defeat to arch rivals Real Madrid on Wednesday night in the Super Cup but it shouldn’t affect them too much in this game.

Valencia have started the season with two draws, first an impressive 1-1 draw away at Real Madrid then a disappointing 3-3 home draw against newly promoted Deportivo.  If Valencia want another 3^rd place finish and Champions League qualification then they need to be picking up the wins against these bottom half teams, especially at home.

It is no surprise that a huge number of goals are expected in this match with Over 2.5 Goals at a low 1.44 with Ladbrokes and the Under at 3.0 with Betfair.  All of Barcelona’s games this season have been over 2.5 goals and I don’t see them breaking that streak now.

Barcelona are strong favourites despite this being last year’s 2^nd vs 3^rd place.  The handicap is set at Barcelona -2 @ 2.04 and Valencia +2 @ 1.91.

Barcelona should bounce back from their midweek disappointment and continue their 100% league record.
