In the second round of the La Liga season we see Real Madrid take the short trip to play neighbours Getafe.  We will preview and provide betting predictions for the game. 

Madrid comes into this season looking to defend their first league title in four year.  They were fantastic last season overpowering Barcelona and the rest of the league on their way to a record 100 points.  Their start to this season however hasn’t gone so well, in their first game they hosted Valencia and were held to a 1-1 draw.  They followed that up with the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup in Barcelona where they were outplayed by a rejuvenated Barcelona side and were lucky to only lose 3-2.

Getafe finished midtable last year, a few wins clear of the relegation places and their main goal this season will be to stay out of the relegation fight again.   They suffered a first week loss away to Seville but will be aiming to pick up most of their points at home against the weaker teams this year.

Total Goals

As with any Madrid game many goals are expected.  Over 2.5 Goals is priced at 1.55, with the Under best at 2.62.  Ronaldo hasn’t been in the best of form for Madrid so far despite his goal against Barcelona and Real will be hoping he returns to last year’s form for this game.

Asian Handicap

Madrid is big favourites for this with the handicap set at Madrid -1.5 @ 1.98 and Getafe +1.5 @ 1.97.  I expect Madrid to bounce back from their loss to rivals Barcelona and expect Getafe will be the team to pay for it.
