Recent form has picked up as their last 6 shows 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats with just three goals conceded. With impressive away wins over Osasuna and Celta. Included in that run was a very narrow 1-0 loss to Real Madrid.  Not many sides can keep Madrid down to just one goal. Missing here for Malaga will be defenders Tissone and Gamez.  Espanyol have had a similar season to the hosts themselves with wins and losses in equal measure, They sit 5 points above Malaga. Away form has been a problem for Espanyol with just 3 wins from their 14 games. Recent form is identical to Malaga with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses.  A clean bill of health for Espanyol though.
