REAL MADRID - OSASUNA PREDICTIONS

Real Madrid host Osasuna on final game day in Spain Primera. Both sides have nothing to play for but Madrid will want to say Adios to Mourinho who will wave goodbye despite a barren year.

Real Madrid have 2^nd place sewn up in Primera but its another season without a trophy. Atletico triumphed in Copa del Rey last week to snatch the only avenue Real had for some sort of solace.  Real Madrid finish the season 15 points behind the fierce rivals Barcelona and in truth hardly challenged at all. At home Real Madrid performed magnificently with 16 wins and 2 draws from 18 matches, ending with a home goal difference of +44.  CR7 or as everyone knows him Cristiano Ronaldo finished a distant 2^nd to Lionel Messi in the race for Pichichi. Unless he manages to bag 13 goals against Osasuna he too will be a runner up. Madrid have a superb side with a depth of squad that pretty much equals two squads of quality. A strong defence player wise is often let down by their penchant to concede sloppy goals. Mourinho has rightly cast aside Pepe the nutter in favour of silky smooth Rafael Varane,  Similarly Casillas has lost his place after a clash of personalities with The Special one and finds himself behind the inferior Diego Lopez. Elsewhere Madrid have supreme players in all positions and with Di Maria, Higuan, Khedira, Ozil, Alonso, Modric and Benzema all competing to start they are pure quality. Ronaldo is for me the best player in the world and can simply win matches on his own.  Madrid go into the game with patchy form as they have 5 wins, 3 draws and 1 defeat from the last nine games.  But with 23 goals and 17 conceded you can see they have major problems with the defence and keeper.

Osasuna have not had the best of seasons and have only just managed to seal their place in next years edition of Primera. Struggling for most of the season Osasuna had a real problem in front of goal. Only managing 31 in 37 games which is the worst in the division. However they were really strong defensively, only conceding 46 all season. The best defensive record outside the top three, an impressive statistic. Surprising really as Osasuna tended to chop and change players throughout the season so it’s a testament to them as they really did keep it tight for the entire edition. The squad is quite low key with neither an old stager or any likely to move on to a Madrid or a Barce. But this is a benefit to Osasuna who will improve for sure next season.  Osasuna had a mixed bag in the last nine games with 3 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats. With 8 goals and 14 conceded it was not an ideal end to the season and they were lucky other had poorer runs.  Away from Pamplona the side was very weak with only 3 wins from 18 games and they ended up with a minus goal difference of 16.

REAL MADRID - OSASUNA: BETTING TIPS

This should be a straight forward win for Real Madrid but you will hardly get rich from the 1x2 price of 1.20. We have to look at the side markets for the value. I expect a few goals for the home side and Ronaldo. The thing with Madrid is they can concede and they do give goals away cheaply. Saying that Osasuna are hardly the most attacking of sides and although they have defended stoutly I cannot see them holding out here.
