The final game before the Christmas break really put the nail in the coffin of Real Madrid’s title challenge as they lost 3-2 away to Malaga.  They are now a huge 16 points off leaders Barcelona and have no chance of catching them, it’ll be tough enough to catch Atletico in 2^nd spot who are 7 points ahead.

Madrid will be without Pepe and Sergio Ramos who are both suspended for this game and Marcelo and Coentrao are injured so it’ll be an almost unknown back 4 that take the field this week. 

I expect Madrid’s focus to be solely on the Champions League from now on and they will do all they can to win it, in the hope of making up for such a disappointing domestic campaign.
