REAL MADRID V VALENCIA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

This Copa del Rey quarter final sees two of Spain’s top sides take the field.  Both teams are underperforming this year relative to their finishes last year and both need improvement if they are to salvage their seasons.

Real Madrid find themselves in 3^rd place in la liga a full 18 points behind rivals Barcelona in 1^st place.  This is not good enough for a team who wanted to defend their title this year and it could spell the end for manager Jose Mourinho.  The only saving grace for him may be winning Real Madrid’s 10^th Champions League title, which will be the full focus of the team from now on.

Valencia have had numerous 3^rd place finishes behind the big two but this year they are struggling to make the top 4 and continue in the Champions League next season.  They are currently 7^th place, 4 points behind Betis who hold 4^th place.

Neither team has this competition as a main goal but with Madrid out of the running in la liga and with no Champions League games for another month they may play a strong side in the hope of bringing in at least one trophy this year.

REAL MADRID V VALENCIA PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

Madrid are strong favourites here, as they are for all home matches.  I feel they will be giving this competition more focus than usual due to their lack of success in the league while Valencia knows they are still in the running for 4^th place and will need to focus entirely on that.

I expect a strong side from Madrid and see them controlling this match fairly easily.
