SEVILLA – RAYO VALLECANO: PREDICTIONS

Terrible start to the season for Sevilla who sit bottom of the table without a win in Primera Division. 2 draws (Malaga & Levante) are the only points on the board. Losses to Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona were to be expected. In Europe its been a different story with the side winning all 5 matches they have played in, scoring a whopping 20 goals and conceding just 3.  Kevin Gameiro looks a standout player and has 3 in 5 league games.  A lengthening injury list for Sevilla who have Reyes, Fazio, Nicolas Pareja, Carrico and Cicinho all out.

Rayo Vallecano come off the back of a 4-0 home loss to Barcelona in a game they were very unlucky in. To lose 4 goals and be on top of Barcelona for long periods is amazing. Vallecano actually had possession of the ball more than the Catalans, with Barcelona holding less than 50% for the 1^st time since 2008. Rayo Vallecano have lost the last four games now though and defensively look poor. They do tend to attack en masse and this is leaving them wide open. Conceding 16 goals in 5 games is the worst defence in the league so far. Iago Falque and Jose Carlos will both sitout.

This game looks very likely to be a home win and goals are sure to be on the cards. Vallecano seem to involved in very exciting games to watch but look to be in some trouble for me. Sevilla have yet to get going but as shown in Europa League can be very offensive indeed. I think Sevilla will get off the mark here and take Sevilla -1 at 1.83 Ladbrokes.
