VILLARREAL – VALLADOLID: PREDICTIONS

Two sides hoping to do at the very least avoid relegation meet at El Madrigal, its Villarreal v Valladolid.

Villarreal opened up with a battling display, away at Almeria they eventually triumphed with a 3-2 that threatened to get away from them. Villarreal played good football for most of the game but did look brittle at the back. They attacked well though and this side containing several new players looked very dangerous. They will obviously play better sides than an Almeria side who promoted alongside them but they did deserve all three points. Giovanni Dos Santos looked good and if The Yellow Submarine can get the best out of him they have a serious player on their hands. Bojan Jokovic and Francisco Farinos are both rated doubtful for this game.

Real Valladolid were given a hard opening game, but did take it at home so will be disappointed to be pointless after losing to Bilbao. The game was full of endeavour for Valladolid but they lacked quality in the opposition half. They didn’t create much and seemed to struggle severely, ineffective forward passes and losing possession too much trying to force attacks.

Villarreal look too big in this fixture, Valladolid should not cause them too many problems. Villarreal were always a very hard side to play against and their attacking football will be too much for Valladolid. The visitors look very ordinary and could be in trouble unless they invest.
