Djokovic has played a lot lately, with nine matches in the last ten days. This can be a lot even for this athletic serb. During this tournament he has occasionally looked a bit tame, perhaps it is the heat and humidity that is the reason. There has also been some talk about shoulder problems, but it seems ok, and he has continued to hit hard ground strokes and press his opponents in ususal fashion. But despite this, he was close to losing against Dolgopolov Jr that seems to be returning to form.
Federer has not played tournament tennis since Wimbledon, but he quickly found his rhythm in Cincinnati, and so far he has not lost a set. On his road to today's final, he has beaten Anderson 6-1 6-1, a great result considering that Anderson is a serve machine and the surface is quick. Last match he beat Murray with a three games margin, and looked solid throughout the match.
Djokovic and Federer has met twice before in Cincinnati, and Federer dominated both encounters. Federer seems to really shine in Cincinnati, and today's match is very important when it comes to grabbing the second seeded place in US Open.
