Djokovic is without a doubt the number one player in the world at the moment, and so far this year he has only lost four matches, one of them the French Open final against today's opponent Wawrinka. There has been some talk about shoulder problems for Djokovic, but the shoulder does not seem to have bothered him lately. He beat Goffin 2-1 in sets (with three games margin) in the last match. In the match before that one, he was under pressure from Paire, but in common Djokovic fashion he grinded his way back and took control and won the match.
Wawrinka is perhaps the most happy on clay, but he did perform well on grass in Wimbledon this year. For instance, he beat Goffin 3-0, an interesting result as Djokovic struggled a bit against him on the fast surface in Cincinnati.
Wawrinka defended well against the serves from Karlovic in the last match. Karlovic hit 35 serve aces (against a respectable 8 for Wawrinka), but despite this Wawrinka won after three tie-breaks.
Djokovic is the favourite in this match, naturally. But we have seen Wawrinka pressure Djokovic on hard court earlier, and he has won four sets against Djokovic in their last two encounters in Australian Open. We are betting 2 units on over 21.5 games, this will cover some results if the match is finished in two sets, even if we think it could go to three sets.
