Brazil to win World Cup 2014

By Ronny on May 16, 2014 in Football, Sports

Can Brazil win the 2014 World Cup? The short answer is yes. I’ll try to elaborate a slightly longer answer in this write-up.

Brazil very much looked the real deal when they lifted the Confederations Cup trophy in Rio last year. In the final the Brazilians converted much better on the night than their opposition; Spain. When the final whistle went, Brazil had scored three and Spain nil.

The Brazilian Squad for the world cup

Julio Cesar (Toronto FC), Jefferson (Botafogo), Victor (Gremio), Dani Alves (Barcelona), Maicon (Inter Milan), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Maxwell (Paris St Germain), David Luiz (Chelsea), Thiago Silva (Paris St Germain), Dante (Bayern Munich), Henrique (Napoli), Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Paulinho (Tottenham), Ramires (Chelsea), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Oscar (Chelsea), Willian (Chelsea), Hernanes (Inter Milan), Bernard (Shakhtar Donetsk), Fred (Fluminense), Neymar (Barcelona), Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg), Jo (Atletico Mineiro)

Brazil weaknesses

One can ask questions about the keeper position, and if Neymar really is mentally up for this World Cup given his much troubled time in Barcelona recently. For me however; the big question mark is getting the team to gel. In the many friendlies Brazil has played there has been a lot of player turnover. As time wore on though it became clearer what the first eleven might look like, so I doubt it is going to be a massive problem for Brazil.

Brazil strengths

Defensively the team is packed with top shelf talent playing for Europe’s finest. There is speed! There is technical ability! There is power! The best thing with these fine defensive players is they can link up so well with the attacking players and give them the best possible service, making their job a lot simpler. The attack looks impressive as well. Again, it is a good mix of ability, pace and power. It will not be easy to play the Brazilians that is for sure.

Their coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari has won the World Cup with Brazil back in 2002. He is known for being quite an emotional guy, so do not be surprised if he has an outburst or three during the tournament. His offensive football and his passion should fit this squad like a glove. Especially playing in front of a home crowd!

Brazil to win the world cup odds

Brazil is priced up at 4 times your stake with Swedish Power house bookmaker Unibet. These odds are probably as good as they get pre-kick off on June 12th. If you believe in Scolari and his squad betting them now is a good idea.
