The English football season will return today when the Premier League champions Chelsea meet the FA Cup winner Arsenal in the FA Community Shield.
Both clubs have been busy lately with pre-season matches. Arsenal showed some fine form, first beating Everton in Singapore, and then Lyon and Wolfsburg in London to take the Emirates Cup. Chelsea has had a mixed pre-season in the US. They lost 4-2 to New York Red Bulls, and then tied against Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona (winning both matches on penalty shootouts).
Neither club has added significantly to their sides during the summer. For Arsenal, Petr Cech is likely to make his debut against his former club. And for Chelsea, Falcao is on a one-season loan agreement and could start the match.
