Summer Transfers
We have a rundown of the major transfers around the big leagues of Europe. Lets start with the big ones.
Raheem Sterling makes the long mooted move down the M62 to Man City. The winger was at least 50% overpriced at 68 million, meaning LFC essentially got Milner for Sterling with 50 million (QPR took 10 mill commission) LFC got the best deal there for sure. With cash in the bank LFC come in at 2nd highest transfer so far with Brazilian new boy Firmino. At a shade over 40 million the playmaker brings huge promise to Anfield -now they need to focus on a striker.
35 million gets you either a Jackson Martinez or one Morgan Schneiderlin. For me Atletico Madrid get more bang for their buck with the Colombian striker. Barcelona again flouts their “transfer ban” with a 34 million outlay on Arda Turan. The maniac from Turkey will have to be shoehorned into the side somehow. He wont be able to play until January so he has an extended summer holiday.
Biggest transfer in Italy sees diminutive Argentine Paulo Dybala move from Palermo to Turin as Juventus splash the cash. With Tevez having left, Pirlo off to USA and Llorente on the move they have a few gaps to plug.
Next up is Real Madrid doing what they do best; splurge money on players no one has heard of. Porto right back Danilo costs 31 million and looks overpriced. Carlos Bacca was one of the buzz players of the summer and he’s obviously not being looking at any Serie A tables recently as he moves to AC Milan. That’s last year’s 10th place Milan.
Bayern Munich has moved to secure Brazilian Douglas Costa, a very good attacking midfielder. They have released Bastian Schweinsteiger to Man Utd. A surprising transfer for me, Man Utd have brought in Memphis Depay also and right back Matteo Darmian for a combined 100 million!
