World Cup betting tips for Group G

In Group G of the World Cup this year we find Germany, Portugal, USA and Ghana. Here are the currently best odds for each of the group entries to win this group:

USA won the CONCACAF group, and sends a side that has players based in the MLS as well as in Mexico and Europe. I see USA as the weakest team in group G.

Ghana finished runner up in the African Cup of Nations and was solid all through the African qualification. They may not have the biggest names in the squad, and their defense might have some unknowns: However, I do rate this side overall slightly above USA.

Portugal arguably has the finest footballer in the World in Cristiano Ronaldo. If he is on top form this side can do really well! Portugal has quality throughout the side, but one does feel they could have needed another top notch offensive player to relieve CR7 of some pressure. Also in order to capitalize on space his markers leave behind!

Germany has it all! This side has been brewing success for some time. Is this going to be their tournament? They sure got the player material to win the whole thing. I am however a bit worried about the Germans having to kick off at 1300 local time on a couple of occasions in the group stages. It could be very warm during the day where they play!

However, I do see them taking down the group. If they have the energy to go all the way is something to debate in another article.

To finish second in the Group

Portugal is the likely candidate. They got enough firepower to oversee everyone but Germany surely. Paddy Power offers 2.30 for this to happen. I think this bet has some potential, so it is just to get on before those odds are long gone.

To finish bottom of the Group

I think there is value to be had in USA at 2.10 with BET365. I think they’ll struggle against Ghana who in my opinion has a better squad and overall better ability. Obviously, I do not see them getting much out of the matches against Germany or Portugal either.
