Mens Olympic Football - Spain v Honduras

By howtobet on July 29, 2012 in Olympics

Spain return to action in a game they must win, after a dismal perfomance against the excellent Japan three points have to be won. Honduras should have beaten 10 man Morocco but couldnt hold on to the lead, finishing 2-2.

Last Game Analysis: Spain were very poor in all outfield departments, only De Gea in goal had a good game and was solely responsible for keeping the score down. They started off in the usual Spanish style of passing but they don't have the Xavi or Iniesta to be able to keep the tempo high. Also when losing possession the senior side work very hard to regain the ball, something Japan did far better then Spain. The Spanish were very sloppy and continually gave the ball away. The sending off from Martinez did not help either. Honduras played a decent game versus Morocco but still could not beat them, they had a numerical advantage too but could not keep the Africans at bay. They had good movement and passed the ball around well enough but they also were guilty of poor decision making and at times sloppy play. They did attack well and in numbers but this left them short many times against Morocco. If they play a similar style in this match they may come unstuck.

Betting Analysis - Interesting to see how Spain recover from their opening game defeat. The team display was abject and not one player stepped up to try and grab the game. Too many players went missing. Honduras are much lower class than the dynamic Japanese so Spain should have enough for victory. Match prices are short so we look to win to nil market. Spain To Win To Nil looks big at 2.00.
