Friday night football returns to the England Premiership and these games used to always be humdingers. For some reason games under the lights tended to be more frenetic and the atmosphere usually was better.  Both sides opened up with 1-0 wins in tight matches. Aston Villa played Bournemouth away. They tended to give possession to Bournemouth first have but were never really in any danger. Villa played a compact game but did play some nice football. In the 1^st half they were 2^nd best but improved a lot second half. Okore is out for sure, while Grealish and Gil shouldn’t be fit either.  Gardner and Crespo will be available for 1^st starts of season.  Striker Rudy Gestede will likely lead the line after a fine debut goal after coming on as substitute.  United will be looking for an improved performance, they beat Spurs 1-0 at Old Trafford. However they were 2^nd best for long periods of both the 1^st & 2^nd half. Phil Jones & Maroune Fellaini are out for sure. Marcos Rojo is not fully fit nor is Schweinsteiger but the German is available for a bench start at least.  Sergio Romero is likely to take his place in net with De Gea’s future uncertain.

I think United will have a similar season to last year. LVG is undoubtedly a great coach but at times his teams can get mixed up in their approach. They looked a little lost at times on Saturday. I will be following Utd a lot at Old Trafford but will look to oppose on the road. Villa looked solid in all areas against Bournemouth. They should improve too as the new boys gel. Striker Gestede will score a lot this season, he looks quality. I take Aston Villa +0.75. We get paid on a Villa win or draw, while a 1 goal loss sees half stakes returned.
