Round 2 of Premier League wraps up with what should be an entertaining football match at Anfield. Liverpool host Bournemouth in what should be an open, pass heavy affair. Liverpool were lucky to grab three points at Stoke at the weekend in a 50/50 game. A moment of magic from Coutinho grabbed the win in unlikely circumstances. Liverpool were rarely in danger of conceding but looked a little fractured across the park. James Milner was lively while Benteke had some lovely touched but rarely threatened. For once Liverpool looked really comfortable at the back with Lovren looking solid while newboys Clyne and Gomez looked like they had 100 games+ for the Reds. Bournemouth played lovely composed football but most of the meaningful play was in their own half and the centrefield. They didn’t threaten much and created a few half chances.  They were let down by set play defending and Gestede stole in unmarked to score from a corner. I always say the teams from Championship find the quality of opposition finishing really jumps up on promotion.  Flanagan, Allen and Sturridge again miss out while Leiva might be out the door before Monday. Bournemouth will be without Arter while Atsu and McDonald are doubts.

Should be a good game but for me I think Liverpool will make Anfield a fortress this year. They were solid in all areas if unspectacular at Stoke.  I think they will unleash Firminho at home and they will want to pile on the attack to capitalise on their unexpected three points last weekend. Bournemouth will pass all day if they can but they look very light upfront. I’m taking Liverpool -1 here, we get paid on the 2 goal or more winning margin. A 1 goal loss sees stakes returned.
