Mainz is 2-5-0 in the Bundesliga this season so far. They've played some pretty good football in the process too. All these draws have come against top half opposition. They got veteran CB Nikolce Noveski available for selection again. Given his contribution to the club in the last couple of seasons his return must be most welcome. Ja-Cheol Koo of South Korea (AM) is still out.
Augsburg has done well given their budget and if they continue like this they have a good chance of survival in the league. They are still good in defence, but lack a bit of penetration up front as Andre Hahn is gone. The new recruits have helped though to notch three wins so far.
In recent history Mainz has won this tie fairly comfortably. I see now reason for history not to repeat itself. That said; given both sides fancying safety first principles I go with the -0.25 Asian Handicap Line. This way we get back half our stake should the game end in a draw.
