Celtic host Malmo in a battle of the North Sea. I tend to always look for angles to oppose Celtic as I believe they are still clinging to the coattails of past success and the bookmakers always over rate them, especially at home. As previously stated Celtic are nowhere near the vintage of previous seasons and the Scotland Premier League is very low quality. Celtic sit 2^nd in the table after 3 wins and 1 draw and trail Hearts by 2 points. In UCL already Celtic have played 4 ties with 3 wins and 1 draw. They defeated Stjarnan of Iceland 6-1 on aggregate while sneaking past Azerbaijani Qarabag 1-0 over 2 legs. Malmo are fifth in Sweden Allsvensken after 20 games. In UCL already they have 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. They beat Zalgiris of Lithuania 1-0 over 2 legs but the result that really catches the eye is a 3-0 over RB Salzburg to make the playoffs. They lost in Austria 2-0 and the tie looked dead and buried. Even the red card to defender Edu on the hour mark in Sweden was not enough to derail the Malmo charge. Going through 3-2 on aggregate was an impressive comeback.  Celtic have Scott Allenn available after his transfer and Nadir Ciftci’s ban does not include UCL.  Malmo lose Markus Rosenborg to suspension.

 

Celtic are far too short here and to get Malmo +0.75 is a gift. This is a very close game between two evenly matched sides and the odds don’t reflect that at all. We get paid on a Malmo win or draw, while a 1 goal loss gets half stakes returned.
