Liverpool make a return to the European Champions League with a straightforward home tie against Bulgarian league winners. Liverpool were once a fixture in Champions League under Rafa Benitez but lost their way in the last few years. They have a real chance of progression this year as they should be capable of besting this team and Basle of Switzerland. Fighting top spot with Real Madrid may be too much but they should qualify. Liverpool have doubts over defenders Skrtel, Johnson and Flanagan with Emre Can and Daniel Sturridge out for sure. Joe Allen is a major doubt and may miss out.  Ludogorets are multiple Bulgaria A league Champions but are making their debut in the group stages of this competition. Only in existence since 2001.  Ludogorets will go either  4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 formation which will utilise two holding midfielders, spraying passes around to the more creative forward or wide players. In recent games the central two have been Svetoslav Dyakov, or the Portuguese Fábio Espinho. In last match Champions League playoff game against Steaua Bucharest, they played alongside each other. A few key men out for them though as keeper Vladislav Stoyanov is suspended and central defensive lynchpin Ivan Čvorović is injured.

Simply a must win game for Liverpool here. To gain anything but 6 points from the home games against Lugorets and Basle would be catastrophic. Liverpool must win and win well here as the other two teams are sure to stroll their home games against these minnows. Liverpool have struggled at times in the opening games of the England Premier League but I feel they will be afforded a little more time on the ball in this game and that could be fatal.
