Champions League returns to Old Trafford after a year hiatus and the Red Devils will be looking to seal the tie in the 1^st leg I feel. United have opened with 2 wins in EPL but have yet to give a performace that the red half of Manchester are used to. Two 1-0 wins with Spurs at home and Villa away dispatched with minimal fuss. LVG will hope that the return to the “big cup” will have an old style atmosphere and a vintage United performance to kick start their season.  Fellaini is available for his seasonal debut but Phil Jones is injured while Evans has a slight knock. Romero is likely to continue in goal but they could have played me in the Aston Villa game as he barely touched the ball. Daley Blind should carry on at CB as hes looked very assured there. Main worry for Bruggs is the sheer amount of players injured! Refaelov, Izquierdo, Meunier, Gedoz, Engels, Ibini,Coopman and Denswil are all out while Duarte is a doubt. Bruggs have 7 points from 4 games so far and trail Oostende by three points, sitting in 4^th position in Jupiler.  Bruggs have never won in England in 11 attempts in UCL and I don’t see it ending here.

 

United will welcome the drop in intensity as UCL games tend not to be played at the breakneck 100mph speed of EPL. I think Bruggs will seek to contain United and this could be their downfall. I take United -1.5 goals and only a 2 goal victory or better gets paid.
