Roma sure are capable of matching the pace of attack of Barcelona but somehow I don’t think they will try. Roma have opened up well in Serie A with an unbeaten run of 2 wins and 1 draw. They have already beaten Juventus 2-1 so that’s a good marker for the season. Roma have not been at their best in Champions League for many seasons now. Indeed you have to go back to 2008 for a quarter final slot for them. The Italians are without midfielder Miralem Pjanic. Barcelona are in the top three on the planet in current standings with Bayern and Real Madrid. Barcelona are 3 wins from 3 in La Liga but have only netted 4 with just 1 conceded in a conservative start to the season. They have had quite a tough run of games with Bilbao and Atletico Madrid away. Barcelona are without injured goalkeeper Claudio Bravo so Marc Andre Ter-Stegen deputises. While defender Gerard Pique is eligible despite being banned from La Liga duty.
This should be a cracking head to head but I have no doubt that Barcelona will have too much firepower for Roma. Saurez, Messi and Neymar are simply unstoppable.
