BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH – FENERBAHCE PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: MATCH STATS

Gladbach have had a terrible start to the season and sit 13^th in the Bundesliga with 6 points from 6 games. They have not managed a win in 6 matches and were demolished 5-0 at the weekend by an excellent Borussia Dortmund team. 3 of their last 5 matches have ended in over 2.5 Goals. Their first Europa League match was a 0-0 draw away at AEL.

Fenerbahce have not had the best start to their season either with just 9 points from 6 matches and they are winless in their last 3 matches. Just 2 of their last 5 matches have ended with over 2.5 goals. Their first Europa League game was a 2-2 draw with Marseille, where they threw away a 2-0 lead with just 10 minutes to go.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Gladbach invested heavily over the summer looking to build on their excellent 4^th place finish last season. They spent the majority on striker Luuk de Jong from Twente who scored a huge 25 goals in 33 games last year, he has not started this season in good form though, scoring just 1 in his first 5 games.

The biggest loss for Gladbach seems to be attacker Marco Reus who moved on to Borussia Dortmund for €17.1m, he has looked in amazing form already this season, scoring 4 goals in just 5 starts.

Fenerbahce also splashed the cash with a €30m on new transfers, the biggest being €10m for Raul Meireles from Chelsea. This money was supposed to win them back the title they finished runners up in last season but it seems to have not worked and the team has regressed.

Despite Gladbach’s poor start to the season I feel they have the higher quality side in this matchup. The team they put out for their first game wasn’t completely first choice but it was strong and I expect a similar strong line-up tonight.

Pinnacle are top price for the home win at 2.07, a lot will depend on the strength of the line-up so I’d be tempted to wait and ensure that the stronger players in the squad are playing before putting the bet on.
