Bulgaria host Norway in an interesting fixture in Group H. Both sides are still in with a shout at least a playoff spot. Bulgaria have played 6 and have 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. In a quirk of fate they are yet to win at home with 2 draws and 1 loss. They drew with Italy and Malta, the latter a terrible result with a loss to Croatia too. Norway are 2 points ahead of the home side but the major problem for both these teams is Italy & Croatia are playing the bottom 2 in the group so they should theoretically pull away. Norway so far have 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Away form reads 2 wins and 1 loss with Malta and Azerbaijan beaten with a heavy loss to Croatia. These sides have only met twice since 2000 and Norway won both 2-1.
More pressure on Bulgaria here as Norway hold a slender 2 point game in the race for at least third. Norway have Malta to come too which is “guaranteed” three points. I prefer Norway with the start as the draw looks a player here.
