Group A on is a very tough one on paper but looking past the teams we can narrow it down in our favour. Top two sides qualify automatically with the next best three teams going through. So every game will be worth playing 100% for as a side could go through with 3 points!
Ok let’s break down the teams with some outright betting, Group Winners and anything else that presents itself!
ECUADOR (Ranked 7th in Comnebol)

Ecuador have an average recent form line looking at it – but if you delve into the statistics you will see it’s not as bad as it appears; They have only actually played 1 home game in those 15 matches! The majority are played in USA and they have played in London also. A few games were genuine away matches and the 1 solitary home game was a 4-0 over Panama. Ecuador are so good at their Quito home base there is little point playing friendlies there. The extreme altitude means opposition struggles for 90 mins and Ecuador usually win. They rely heavily on Enner Valencia and the West Ham striker has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances which is a quality strike rate. They must do without skipper Antonio Valencia and attackers Arroyo and Caicedo due to injury.
I think Ecuador have the capability to do well here. Not many people are tipping them to go far but for me they could be a lively outsider! I have them down for 2nd place in the group and that gives them a crack at the runner up in Brazils group – a three way between Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. Winnable ties as you see how Colombia could be struggling.
I have already tipped a dual forecast of Chile & Ecuador at 2.80 or 9-5 at Ladbrokes. Also a straight Forecast of Chile 1st and Ecuador 2nd at 3.60 or 13-5 Ladbrokes. I think they could be a decent bet to reach the Semi-Final at least at 3.50 or 5-2 with 888bet. Again we re-iterate that after 90 minutes in knock out games there is no extra time so its straight to penalties. Paraguay got to final in 2011 without winning a single match! Due to their prowess in defending and winning on Penalties. So back to Ecuador, I’m putting them up as best outsiders for the tournament. I’m not saying they are going to win the thing but they have a good chance at a massive price of giving you a run for your money. Back Ecuador to win Copa America 2015 at 33-1 at Skybet (each way 1-3 odds 1-2) and take a small bet on Enner Valencia top goalscorer at 66-1 with bet365 (each way 1-4 odds 1-2-3) for run also.
