CRICIUMA – GOIAS: PREDICTIONS

Two of the smallest teams in the Brazilian Serie A go head to head in a game that is no less fascinating than the big match ups. Both sides will target a valuable three points in this game.

Criciuma were formed  many years ago but collapsed due to financial implications. They were reformed in 1976, bouncing around the Brazilian leagues. Up and  down between A,B and C in a chaotic few years.  Indeed it has been out of the top flight since 2004 and was in the third tier as recently as 2010! The side from Santa Catarina sits in 17^th position with 2 wins and 4 defeats. Three of those losses have come away from home, I think they will struggle badly on their travels this year. Last match out summed this up as they faced Atletico MG reserves and were outclassed and lost 3-2.

Goias of Goiania is the largest club of the Central-Western area and has won Serie B twice.  Its side is made up exclusively of Brazilian players but none of them are household names and would be considered top drawer. Sitting in 12^th with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats its been a middling start for Verdao. Striker Walter is the main man for Goias and even though he is out of shape he is running everything that is good for the Goais.

CRICIUMA – GOIAS: BETTING TIPS

A really tight game this one and very hard to pick a winner. A strong home side against a poor away side. It looks good for Criciuma at home but they really are a level below most of this division. I think they will be better than most of the lower sides in these match ups though. I know Goias will struggle on their travels this year so Criciuma are taken at 2.05 (Willhill).
