TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

MK Dons have made a good start to League 1  but cannot seem to string results together. Defensively sound The Dons have some top level experience with Jimmy Bullard, Alan Smith and Luke Chadwick. Coupled with a lot of experienced lower league players the Milton Keynes side play some good football and have a good young manager in Karl Robinson.  Jimmy Bullard is expected to be the only absentee for MK Dons.Striker Charlie MacDonald  and full-back Jon Otsemobor were taken off in the last game but should be fit for this one. Gary MacKenzie is another doubt but early indications are the centre-half is another who should be involved in the third-round tie.
Sunderland have been involved in four league draws so far in a frustrating start to their Premiership season.They have had a difficult start with a number of hard games and should open their win account soon. Martin O'Neil is one manager who respects the cup competitions and is expected to continue this tradition with a near full strength side as he can muster. He has a spate of injury concerns though, Fraizer Campbell and midfielder Sebastian Larsson both went off in the West Ham game. Titus Bramble is a major doubt,  winger Adam Johnson and defender Carlos Cuellar are out for sure. Phil Bardsley and Wes Brown are nearing a return but are unlikely to be risked here.

2.31 on Sunderland (Pinnacle) is the selection as the home side cannot compete with Sunderland. Even accounting for injuries The Mackems have a big enough squad to cope and early indications are Campbell and Larsson will both make the game. O'Neills love of the competition spans from his three finals as a Leicester coach and he will be keen to bring silverware back to The Stadium of Light. His side are a far greater team than MK Dons and 2.31 is huge.
