EXETER – QPR: PREDICTIONS

The Premiership high rollers have really fallen, they visit the other St James Park for a 1^st round fixture against Exeter.

Exeter are another side who tend to bounce up and down between the lower divisions. They were as low as the Conference in 2008 but gained back to back promotions to League 1. After a season there they dropped back down to League 2 and are there now. The Grecians seem a well run club and a look at their squad shows they could do OK in League 2 this year. Quotes for the titles at around 25-1 place them in midtable.  Opening day saw them beat a fancied Bristol Rovers 2-1 at home.

QPR find themselves in the Championship after a calamitious 2^nd season in the Premier League. After escaping on final day the year before lessons were not learned and owner Tony Fernandes went shopping and brought in a collection of players for Harry Redknapp. The side never gelled at all through the season and  finished last in with a pitiful haul of points. A few players have left and Redknapp has brought in some Championship “specialists” in Charlie Austin and Karl Henry. With Joey Bartan back and a very large squad QPR should be capable of seeing of Exeter no bother. They opened up with a 2-1 win over Sheff Wed at home on Saturday but it was not all plain sailing for The Hoops.

EXETER – QPR BETTING TIPS

This game should be a QPR win no problems at all. The only thing is Harry Redknapp is notorious for taking his side out of the competitions early with 2^nd string sides performing under par. The odds are shortening on Exeter and this is one game were team news is king. At this point it’s not known what the 1^st eleven will be for QPR but I will confirm as soon as it’s out.  I take the safer option of Both Teams To Score here at 1.91 (williamhill) It looks like there could be goals here whichever side Redknapp decides on.
