LEEDS – CHESTERFIELD: PREDICTIONS

Elland Road was rocking on Saturday with 33,000 fans in after renewed optimism over the summer. Leeds beat well fancied Brighton 2-1 and confidence is up. Chesterfield are the visitors for this Capital One Cup match.

Leeds showed why the fans turned up in their droves at the weekend. With Neil Warnock quickly forgotten fans are loving life under Brian McDermott. They fully deserved the 2-1 win over Brighton and looked good for much of their game against a possibly stronger side. Leeds are a solid outfit with a lot of experienced players. Usually very strong infront of their home fans they could be an outside bet for the Championship this year.

Chesterfield find themselves in the bottom tier of England football after an eventful few years.  Spending equal amounts of time between leagues 1 and 2 and even getting to a semi final of the FA Cup in the late 90’s. The side has not had much success lately but in Paul Cook they have an astute manager and the squad is decent if not a little small.
