BARNSLEY - WOLVERHAMPTON PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Barnsley's heirarchy were roundly damned for the ousting of Keith Hill. However they have already been vindicated after the tremendous turnaround brought on by new man David Flitcroft.  With 8 games unbeaten, 7 of them wins Barnsley are a different side. Even the sale of star man John Stones has had no negative effect. With 14 goals scored and just 5 conceded things are looking positive for The Tykes. Overall they sit 22nd with 9 wins, 7 draws and 15 losses, they are just a point behind safety and a game in hand.  Barnsley have also progressed to the FA Cup quarter finals, showing great resolve to gain a place in the last 8. However progression came at a price with Kelvin Etuhu facing a spell on the sidelines after a serious head injury.

Wolverhampton battled gamely for a point at Derby County but have still to taste victory for Dean Suanders. The winless streak sits at 10 games now and Wolves are in trouble, just one point seperates them and opponents Barnsley who occupy the last relegation place. Wolves have also played more games than their relegation rivals and this could be a problem as we reach the business end of the season. Wolves have only 9 wins, 8 draws and 15 losses, they have only managed 4 goals in the last 5 matches as they struggle to turn the corner. No new injury worries for Wolverhampton as they face a real six-pointer.

Barnsley are in such great form they look a really good bet here. My only worry is that the Man City cup tie might cause a few problems as every player will have their mind on that game. Wolves are simply awful this team and why they are so short is beyond me. Barnsley are more than a match for them and prices should be no bigger than 2.20 the home side, indeed I would be edging towards 2.10.
