TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Birmingham have had a flat season and are in dire need of freshening up. The team looks stale and despite having one of the most deadly front line duo in the division in Marlon King and Leroy Lita The Blues are struggling for goals. There is very little creativity in the side, the players are more hardworking than creative. Coach Lee Clarke has made an impressive loan signing with ex Premier star Papa Baba Diop signing up for a month. Birmingham have no problems with players they released on international duty, they were hardly used as only Jack Butland played any part. Keith Fahey and Jonathon Spector didn't get off the bench. Injury concerns are mounting with new signing Ben Gordon out with after injury during practise match. An entire defence is absent with David Murphy, Stephen Carr, Paul Caddis and Pablo Ibanez all out.
Leicester are in fine form and look a real solid outfit, with a handy squad they could go all the way to the top. Defensively sound and with a fine selection of in form strikers Leicester are handily set for a tilt at the title. Expect them to boss the game here and have the majority of the possesion. They will give nothing away here and their strikeforce of Nugent and Vardy is a danger to any team. Leicester have no injury worries and midweek internationals Andy King and Anthony Knockaert reported back with full fitness.

BIRMINGHAM - LEICESTER:1X2 BETTING PREDICTION

2.30 Leicester (StanJames) is too big a price to ignore in this clash of the Midlands giants. Birmingham have been very poor in the majority of their games and their recent 5-0 mauling at home to Barnsley is as bad as it gets. Leicester are a really solid side and I cannot see Birmingham breaching this back line. With Leicester attacking the reshaped Birmingham back line expect to see an away win to nil.

Leicester -0.75 is the pick here (2.69 Pinnacle) I fully expect Leicester to win here but we are looking by a 2 goal margin to fully collect. Leicester have done this in 4 of their 7 wins so far this season. With a 1 goal win enough for half win/half refund this selection is nicely priced and represents value. Under 2.50 1.98 (BetVictor) is the bet here. Again it looks a bit of a gamble given the nature of the goal mad Championship but these two sides are among the tightest in the division. Ignore the 5-0 for Brum and the averages would be under 2.5. I don't expect Birmingham to trouble the scorer and I can see a tough, uneventful derby match.
