Blackburn welcome old boy Henning Berg as manager, a strange decision as he has had little success in management so far. With no previous experiance in this, the most difficult of divisions he faces a huge task.  The already beleagured fans are in dismay at the appointment. Blackburn are in a poor run of form at the moment and have only 2 wins in the last 9 games. Blackburn travelled to Huddersfield in Midweek and were 2-1 in stoppage time before losing concentration and conceding in the dying moments.Berg has a massive task on his hands as Blackburn are a listless side at the moment.

Birmingham returned to winning ways with a determined performance as they dominated a poor Bristol City side. Clarke tried a change of personnel giving Zigic and Chris Burke rare starts. I would not read too much into the miweek win as the visitors were downright atrocious. Marlon King gave a lively performance and looked very dangerous. Birmingham had the outball of Zigic too and they sometimes over relied on the long ball. 2 wins in 6 for Birmingham who are not playing any sort of football usually associated with Lee Clarke.

Neither team can get a run together and much more was expected at the start of the season. Blackburn are playing with low confidence and for a side containing such quality are a bit of a letdown. Birmingham are one of the strangest sides in the league as they are pretty much capable of anything. Really difficult to pin down and their games produce surprise after surprise. Blackburn are the better team for sure but this is a hard selection to make.
