BLACKBURN - IPSWICH:  PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Blackburn seemed to have turned the corner, after considerably trimming down the squad and with a settled side they are finally heading in the right direction.  With only 1 defeat in eight games and five wins in that time they look the side they should have been in August. Occupying 13th position with 10 wins, 10 draws and 9 losses Blackburn still have an outside chance at a playoff spot. They are only 6 points behind Middlesbrough, but 6 teams sit inbetween the two sides. Highlighting how tough this division is to get out of. DJ Campbell has joined from QPR and is available to play against his former team. Campbell is quality at this level and will be a huge asset to Blackburn.

Ipswich continue to creep ever closer to safety, after a win and 2 draws in the last four games. Last time out Ipswich hosted promotion chasing Middlesbrough at Plough Lane and totally dismantled them 4-0. The Tractor Boys sit in 19th position on 35 points, 4 points above the drop zone. With 9 wins, 8 draws and 13 defeats things are looking a whole lot healthier for the East Anglians. Keeper Scott Loach sits the game out with a broken finger, winger Lee Martin is a big doubt and will be given until late as possible to prove his fitness. Striker Carlos Edwards played in a Trinidad on Thursday morning and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit to feature on Saturday.

Blackburn look a different side of late and one much nearer the pre-season one. With some selective pruning of the bloated squad they are more settled now. They are looking solid once more and at home should have too much for Ipswich.  Both sides are much better outfits over recent times but Blackburn have an allround better 1st eleven than their counterparts.
