BRIGHTON - WOLVERHAMPTON PREDICTIONS
A huge clash this in a game that could see both sides end up in the different divisions. Wolverhampton travel to Brighton knowing even a win may not be enough to see them cling on to their England Championship status.
Brighton are in a fantastic run of form, they go into this game unbeaten in eight matches. (4 wins, 4 draws) with 16 goals scored and only 5 conceded. They are locked into 4th position in England Championship and cannot be displaced from there with any combination of results on the final day of the season. Therein lies the problem for coach Gus Poyet, does he rest his key men giving them extra days off to set themselves up for the playoffs and protect against possible injuries? Or does he go down the momentum route and seek to carry on their unbeaten run and keep confidence high but risking an injury? Its a difficult decision and one that could cost the club dearly. Bruno is injured and Inigo Calderron is suspended, while Wayne Bridge may be rested with him not being 100% fit.
Wolverhampton are looking at relegation unless they can win well at Brighton and hope Peterborough and Barnsley lose and possibly for Peterborough to concede several also. Wolverhampton only have themselves to blame as they binned Mick McCarthy and them gambled with a few untested coaches. Wolverhampton go into the game in poor shape with only one win in five games. (four defeats with 9 goals conceded and 4 scored) Wolverhampton sit in 23rd with 14 wins, 9 draws and 22 defeats. Bakary Sako again will play some part despite being not fully fit. Its a chance Wolves must take as relegation again could have serious ramifications for the future of the club.
BRIGHTON - WOLVERHAMPTON: BETTING TIPS
Wolverhampton are taken here in a surprise selection. I feel with Brighton locked in 4th and unable to be overtaken they may ease their foot of the gas with one eye on the playoff 1st leg. Brighton have a few injury worries to contend to with no less than four full backs looking likely to miss out. There will be a few players out of position and I also believe that players will not be 100% committed with important matches to come. This game for Wolverhampton is of the utmost importance. They must win well and may have to win by 2 or 3 depending on results elsewhere. Dean Saunders will have his men playing at maximum and will have to ignore goings on elsewhere and first get the win they need. I think against a Brighton side keen to avoid a dog fight they may upset the odds here.
